]]> SIES and ALeRT are monitoring Mega-Fauna in Way Kambas National Park.  This will provide a census of endangered animals including tiger, rhinoceros, elephant, sunbear and tapir.  This information will lead to improved protection strategies.

We are also intensively protecting 300 sq km of regenerating tiger land in the Park.  Bungur sub-section is now under 24 hour guard providing the first fully protected tiger habitat expansion.  The area now supports deer and wild pigs and tigers will be moving into this territory from the wild breeding population.

]]> SIES has been asked to help with feeding, care and treatment of Dara, a 3 year old Sumatran tiger female, rescued from a wire snare trap in forest near Kerinci National Park in Bengkulu province, Sumatra.  Dara has lost most of her foot and is being kept in a small cage at the back of the office of conservation in Bengkulu.  We hope to rehabilitate Dara and either return her to the wild or find her safe free-range sanctuary.  We need your help.  Please make a donation to SIES save Dara appeal?
