Elephants stranded away from Way Kambas National Park

In July 2010 a group of 25 elephants were mistakenly driven away from the Way Kambas National Park after raiding agricultural land.  The elephants travelled 10 km from the park.  They were stranded for 36 hours while the NP gained permission for them to cross private farmlands.  Finally the Way Ka

mbas Elephant Conservation Centre mahouts and elephants drove them back to the park and no person or animal was hurt.  A significant success for Way Kambas!
